St. Kevin’s Nature Play Park
Blending nature-based learning with adventurous play, St. Kevin’s Nature Play Park was envisioned as a safe, engaging, and discovery-driven environment for young children. Designed in close collaboration with Phelan Shilo, the goal was to bring to life a sensory-rich space that sparks imagination, supports social development, and connects students to the outdoors.
Our visual approach centered on realism and scale — helping stakeholders visualize not just the structure, but how children would naturally interact with it. We balanced warm, inviting materials like timber and stone with organic pathways, layered plantings, and dynamic playscapes, including a signature slide integrated into the topography.
To ensure the images felt true to the energy of a primary school, we included subtle storytelling: kids exploring, climbing, running, and laughing, parents engaging nearby. The lighting was kept soft and natural, capturing the warmth of a sunny school day while maintaining full detail across textures and landscape elements.
The result is a presentation tool that helped bring this space to life for school leadership, community planners, and parents — giving them a clear, emotional sense of what this playground will mean to the children it serves.
