Sheepskin Sofa Collection
Hero Model + Material Development Visualization
Articture approached us to bring their new Sheepskin Sofa Collection to life, starting with the 2-seat model. With no technical drawings and only an AI-generated reference as a starting point, we were tasked with developing a fully accurate 3D model that set the visual and material standard for all future pieces in the line. The focus was realism. The sofa needed to feel dense, tactile, soft, and sculptural in a way that would translate flawlessly across the entire collection.

What made this project special was the material challenge. Sheepskin isn’t just “white fuzzy fabric.” It behaves like a natural fiber. We spent considerable time dialing in fur length, strand direction, clumping, shadow breakup, and variation across the surface. The material had to feel organic rather than uniform, with subtle tonal shifts and irregularities that avoided the overly perfect, synthetic look.
Without formal specs for alternate sofa configurations, our modeling required interpretation and design judgment, staying loyal to the client’s original inspiration while making practical decisions that would hold up across five+ SKUs.
Lighting and camera work also mattered. We leaned on soft, neutral HDRI’s to enhance surface detail while keeping the hero sofa timeless, quiet, and high-end
